Already more than 50 years ago, in 1957, KÖMMERLING started the extrusion of roller shutter slats, laying the foundation for its international success as a single source for a full assortment of products. By the mid-1990s, KÖMMERLING expanded the operation of its production facilities to China and the USA, thus signalling its international success. In 1954 TROCAL introduced the first mass-produced plastic window and is therefore considered to be the inventor of this product. In 1972 TROCAL patented the first colour profiles with acrylic coating (PMMA). The coextruded window profiles are available today under the AcrylProtect name. In 1988 TROCAL patented the recycling-profile, which received the “Product of the Year” award in 1991. The patented GlassWin system offers structural glazing solutions for plastic windows and opens up a great deal more leeway and new design options in architecture. With AluFusion, profine introduced a completely new generation of windows to the market in 2006. The unique combination of aluminium and plastic combines the advantages of both materials. |
