Contrarily to the rolled or drawn softer materials, it has a particularly high resistance to deformation. The well-known deformation of the copper or its vibration in connection with long and slim electrodes does not at all occur. The spark erosion as a method to remove excess material in combination with today's processing devices, has reached such a level that it satisfies any whatsoever requirements of the tooling and mould construction. Nevertheless, even the best EDM machine is only as good as the degree of burn-off resistance und the dimensional stability of the electrodes used.
