For the individual development steps, concept models, geometric prototypes, functional prototypes as well as technical prototypes are developed. When selecting the prototyping process, the chosen properties as well as the required quantity of prototypes are decisive. RAUMEDIC offers all commercial processes such as stereolithography, laser sintering of polymers, vacuum casting and prototype and series-near testing tools. Stereolithography: This process creates geometric prototypes of high precision without tools. It can be used both for assembly tests as well as functional prototypes. Laser sintering of polymers: This process is particularly suited to the creation of functional prototypes without tools. Particular properties such as snap connections and film hinges can be realised. Vacuum casting: With this, batch sizes of up to 25 pieces as well as 2-component prototypes, e.g. in hard-soft compounds can be made. Elastic moulded parts with, e.g., the stiffness of ABS can also be manufactured through the use of new resin types.
